Haircuts. We all need them at some point, even if you like the shabby kind of look that makes you look sort of homeless.
Except for some of us who become folically challenged later on in life (I’m not that far away). And there’s nothing like trying to communicate to a barber or a hairdresser in another language that you want a short back and sides when you are probably asking them permission to fondle your nipples instead.
I’ve managed to get by using sign language and using the words ‘short’ and ‘long’ whilst pointing to the correct area – I think!
But when you’re travelling long term, you’ll need to have someone cut back your locks just so that people don’t start handing you food and money on the street because you look just a shade too shabby!
Anyway, I digress. I’ve written a couple of offbeat haircut related articles here before, including the Cut The Crap salon, the hairstyles for men tent and the Boyzillian in Singapore.
Today’s silly article is about what is quite possibly the most bizarre customer attracting tactic that I’ve come across when it comes to the stuff that grows on top of your head.
Shit Haircuts – not Short Ones!
Anyway, this is the store front of a hairdressing salon in the inner city precinct of Fortitude Valley in Brisbane, Australia.
Looks pretty innocent, until you have a look up at the overhead sign and see this!
What, a shit haircut? Why the hell would I want one of those?
But upon closer look, it’s a deliberate advertising and marketing ploy for a hairdressing salon called Tognini’s.
Actually, the S.H.I.T haircut is an abbreviation – Super Hot Individual Talent!
So a S.H.I.T haircut doesn’t necessarily equate into a bad one!
But anyway, it’s definitely an attention seeker. And I haven’t seen any competitors open across the street saying that they fix S.h.i.t haircuts!
