Flower Arranging – The High Speed Version!

Be a share millionaire! Tell the world!

The vast majority of people (well, men) in the Western World only seem to visit a florist on two days of the year – Valentine’s Day and Mother’s Day. These two days pretty much carry the entire floristry business for the entire year because guys don’t want to end up in the dog house from their girlfriends/wives and/or mothers because they didn’t buy loads of flowers on a day that experiences a crazy percentage markup in pretty smelling plants that you could easily steal from someone else’s garden.. Yes, I’m joking..

Obviously, part of a florist skills includes the art of Flower Arranging – trying to match different flowers with foliage to come up with a pretty arrangement. This involves not only trying to match colours, but different textures as well.

However, I came across a couple of guys in Singapore who take this to the next level. I came across them in Little India on a short guided tour with MeGuideU.

This post follows up the one on 10 Weird Things to do in Singapore.

Anyway, when we were walking around, we came across these guys who put together these decorative floral pieces every single morning so that local shop owners can display them at the front of their shops. Flowers are imported from other places in Asia, and obviously the flower arrangements these guys produce are highly valued based on the huge output being sent out from this tiny back street workshop.

This would take a lot of skill, and a lot of patience I don’t have at all!

Crazy Flower Arranging Video!

I did manage to capture a couple of minutes of crazy footage without become dizzy and falling over.

Try to keep up with how these guys manage to twirl the string around the flowers. It would take me a year to make what these guys produce in 5 minutes!

There you go – want to have a crack at this? It might take a lifetime to get even close to the amazing skills these guys have!
