Ahhh, beer. I like having an icy cold one on a very hot day – nothing comes close to tasting perfect under these conditions. I like hanging around with a few friends and drinking the amber fluid straight out from an esky (that’s Australian for cooler box) that has had a couple of packets of ice chilling the beer all day.

This wonderful scenario can happen when camping, fishing, or just watching the sun go down. However, it looks like some guys take things that little bit too far..

How To Drink and Drive Successfully..

Drink And Drive Ute Full Of Booze

That’s right, it’s a ute (or utility vehicle) that’s chock full of ice and beer! An ideal mobile pub! I can imagine cruising down the street and selling beer from the back of this thing!

I received this image a few years ago by email from someone and I had a good laugh at it. I’m sure this load in total would be a few hundred kilograms but it looks like these guys were going to have a really big night!

This vehicle could easily be used in an attempt to break the “Drink Driving Record” if you were planning a combined road/beer drinking trip around Australia! I’m not condoning the Drink and Drive culture, but hey, if you’re going to do it, you may as well do it well!

If you’re wondering how they can transport this stuff around without wrecking the inside of the tray, well most utes have the option of having a black impervious ‘shell’ that can be installed as an extra – this acts as a barrier between whatever you throw in the back and the metal tray.

Judging by the photo, I would think that the value of the ice and beer inside the car may be worth more than the car itself! This is a pretty impressive feat, especially if this is all consumed over the course of a night!

Anyway, Cheers!

Is that photo in Australia? I received it by email on 02 Mar 2005, I had not seen this kind of car by that time. Now, I’m in Australia and checking my old mails I found that. What a coincidence.
