Today’s Offbeat Travel Photo is Become Vampire – Or At Least Kill One Yourself With A Stake in New Zealand, which was sent in via email.
This is a clever promotion for the True Blood TV Series in New Zealand (check out True Blood Series 1 and Series 2), which I guess has been capitalizing on the recent fad of Vampires and Werewolves.
That’s right, you can rip your own Stake off the wall and shove it into the closest Vampire that you find.
Or otherwise, I guess if you don’t, you’ll be bitten and Become a Vampire yourself!

It’s hard to gauge how big this Vampire Stake wall is, but I guess there are many New Zealand homes that are now safer from Vampire Bites!
So there you go – grab yourself a Vampire Stake from some random advertising billboard somewhere.
Or if not, Become a Vampire yourself and be bitten!

Holy crap!
You may have heard of the Entirely Kiwi World Famous Promotion that was on recently.
Basically they were looking to shout someone a trip around New Zealand for 3 months, all expenses paid.
It’s kind of like ‘The Best Job In The World‘ but with lots more sheep and less sun!
In return, the winning candidate has to do all sorts of fun things in New Zealand, such as bungy jump, have great NZ wines, and other strenuous activities.
Vanessa (@EntirelyKiwi on Twitter) sent me an email today informing me that I have been selected as 1 of 10 candidates to score a 3 month Blogging junket around New Zealand as part of the Entirely Kiwi World Famous Promotion!
Out of the 10 shortlisted candidates, I need to be in the Top 3 most followed blogs to progress to the next stage – where Entirely Kiwi will select a winner.
Anyway I would definitely appreciate your follow to help me get over the line – so, have a look here at my blog at Entirely World Famous and click on Follow!
Fingers Crossed!
Cheers

The World’s Steepest Street is Baldwin Street, in Dunedin, New Zealand.
Because the sign says so!

Like any good local council wanting to promote their city, the Dunedin City Council proudly states that this street is officially the ‘Steepest in the World’, and is in the Guinness Book of Records.
Well it is a bit steep.
The average grade of The World’s Steepest Street is 1 in 3.41, with the steepest grade being 1 in 2.86. Check out these photos.

I guess you need good brakes on your car.
If you really want to, you can also claim some dodgy certificates at the bottom of the street that has been set up by some enterprising resident – saying that you’ve walked up and down The World’s Steepest Street.

Other things to do in New Zealand after visiting The World’s Steepest Street – have a steak at the Huntsman Steakhouse.

This Weird Sculpture was spotted in a park at Port Chalmers, north of Dunedin, New Zealand.
I have no idea what this Weird Sculpture means – there were no signs showing any descriptions of what it’s supposed to represent.
If you have any idea, let me know.
Strange.

If you want to create your own, check out The Sculptor’s Bible.

Nugget Point is located near Dunedin, in New Zealand.
It’s a popular place for tourists to check out on the South Island.
Nugget Point is a bit ordinary when it’s pissing down rain and windy, but it’s worth a look.
I enjoyed the walk to and from the lighthouse at Nugget Point, and you can view wildlife such as seals, birds and other wildlife.

However, on the way to the Nugget Point lighthouse, is this rather ‘stating the obvious sign’.

Watch out, the cliffs at Nugget Point might come out and eat you.
You can check out what Nugget Point looks like here at Amazon.
