Kangaroo Funny – The ‘Dead’ or Drunk Skippy

Posted on 24 August 2010 by anthony

Today’s Funny Travel Photo is a Kangaroo Funny – taken by Farnoosh from @ProlificLiving. Check out the Prolific Living Website and Facebook Page.

This Kangaroo looks either drunk or dead! Farnoosh photographed this Funny Kangaroo at Taronga Zoo, in Sydney, Australia.

Resting kangaroo Kangaroo Funny The Dead or Drunk Skippy

Farnoosh says ‘Worry not, the kangaroo is alive and well. This kangaroo had me in stiches for minutes, and even my nonstop laughter did not stir him a bit.I found it hilarious – and had titled it “Resting after a hard days’ work”.

Being Australian, maybe the Kangaroo is drunk after all…

I don’t think the ‘Resting Kangaroo’ appeared in Welcome to the World of Kangaroos.

Funny Pranks Gone Right – The Witches Hat

Posted on 04 August 2010 by anthony

Today’s post is about Funny Pranks Gone Right!  And it’s a clever one!

A few weeks ago, I went to the Caxton Street Wine and Seafood Festival in Brisbane, Australia.  Actually, the name is a misleading, as it’s basically a thin disguise and excuse to close off Caxton Street so people can drink alcohol on the road, and maybe try the odd piece of squid or octopus.

A number of bands play throughout the day and night, from a variety of genres such as rock, rap and reggae.

There’s even a captive audience from houses that lie directly adjacent to the precinct.  I hope the builder who constructed the house did a good job.

However, I noticed a Funny Prank Gone Right when I was watching one of the bands play.

Check out the photo below: Notice anything unusual in the picture?

Hint, it involves that massive tree between the two houses.

Here is a close up!

It required no explanation – I have no idea how that Witches Hat (slang for traffic control cone) ended up at the top of the huge tree.  Sounds like a drunken Funny Prank Gone Right to me!  I didn’t hear anyone dying from falling out of a tree!

So there you go – an example of Funny Pranks Gone Right!  Awesome!

Federal Government Stimulus Money – Where Your Taxes and The Paycheck is Going

Posted on 02 August 2010 by anthony

With the recent Global Financial Crisis, Federal Governments around the world were dishing out large sums of Stimulus Money to keep their respective economies from being flushed down the crap hole.

I was amazed that these Federal Governments were able to whip out billions of dollars that seemed to have been stuffed into a giant mattress in case capitalism didn’t work all of a sudden!

However, this interesting survey undertaken by the Cairns Post in Australia gives an indication that this money was definitely being well spent.

Check out the response from young Connor, on the extreme right.

Note, you may have to click on the image and see a larger version to have a clear idea of his somewhat funny response to ‘How Will You Spend Your Government Stimulus Money?’

Oh well, I’m glad to know that my taxes for the Government Stimulus were being put to good use!

But maybe it wasn’t the Stimulus the Prime Minister of Australia was thinking of!

Airline Commercials and Advertising – Taking Advantage of Political Events

Posted on 30 June 2010 by anthony

We usually take notice of Airline Commercials and Advertising when there are some crazy deals to fly somewhere for less than a meal.

Sometimes, it’s more expensive to get to the airport than to take an actual flight!

Anyway, in amongst the World Cup action that’s been happening, some of you might have noticed that Australia recently had a change of leadership, and has it’s first ever female Prime Minister.

I won’t go too much into the politics (by the way, politics is made up of 2 words – poli = many, tics = blood sucking creatures), but the former Prime Minister, Kevin Rudd, was challenged by Julia Gillard after a lot of back room maneuvers which have caused political reporters here to go a bit silly.

There was loads of speculation before the leadership challenge, but check out this Airline Advertisement that appeared in  a local newspaper on the day of the leadership change!

Note: the picture of the guy here is former Prime Minister, Kevin Rudd!

Anyway, some marketing/advertising manager had this ready to roll pretty quickly, so I thought this was a pretty funny example of Airline Commercials and Advertising.

Only in Australia!

I’m not sure if this Airline Commercial and Advertising technique appeared in Airline Marketing and Management, but maybe it should!

Finger Fishing, Cooktown, Australia – Painful Travel Photo

Posted on 22 June 2010 by anthony

Finger Fishing is today’s Painful Travel Photo.

This was sent to me via @MyCooktown.  They also have a Facebook Page you can check out.

Finger Fishing happens when you mistake your Finger for a Fish when throwing in a line or lure.

This example was taken at Cooktown in Far North Queensland, Australia.

Check it out.  Ouch

Anyway, be careful next time you throw a lure in, you don’t want to end up Finger Fishing like this guy!

Somehow, I don’t think this photo appeared in the Little Fish Finger Puppet Book.
