Blackbutt – Funny Town Name of the Week

Blackbutt is a town located in South East Queensland in Australia.

Contrary to what this Funny Town Name sounds like, it has nothing to do with the backside of people.

Actually, Blackbutt is derived from the name of a tree.  Blackbutt is named for the blackbutt trees (species name: Eucalyptus pilularis) that are native to the area.
